House Cleaning in Loulé

In Loulé we clean everything the town has: flats in the centre with narrow stairs and no lift, houses on the outlying estates, and old properties where the original floors will not take an ordinary product. As this is our base, we can almost always fit a one-off clean into the same week.

Loulé, as seen by the people who work there

Loulé is our base. It is the town where our office is, where the equipment is kept, and where we know the streets well enough to know where a scaffolding van can park without getting in anybody's way.

The town grows between the old quarter at its centre and the newer housing on the edges, with the barrocal — the limestone hill country — rising to the north and the plain dropping away towards the coast. Two worlds sit side by side here: flats and houses from the eighties and nineties in the newer parts, and old buildings with thick walls, barrel tiles and worked parapets in the historic centre.

In Loulé we get everything: from the landlord who needs a flat repainted between tenants to the full refurbishment of a family home in the centre.

What we find in Loulé

An old centre with rules of its own

Much of the centre falls within a heritage protection zone, which restricts façade colours, tile types and window frames. Working here means finding out what is and is not allowed before the first hammer blow.

Narrow streets with difficult access

No lorry fits down the streets of the centre and there is no room for a cherry picker. A lot of what we do there involves carrying material up by hand and putting up narrow façade scaffolding.

Rising damp in older houses

Stone masonry walls built without a damp-proof course draw moisture up from the ground. Painting over it without dealing with the source gives you blisters within months.

House Cleaning: what we do

  • General clean of every room — Vacuuming and washing of floors, dust on all surfaces and furniture, doors, skirting and light switches.
  • Kitchens done thoroughly — Worktops, sink, inside and outside of appliances, tiling and degreasing of the extractor.
  • Bathrooms disinfected — Sanitaryware, shower trays, taps and tile joints, with limescale and mould removed.
  • Glass and frames — Interior and reachable exterior glazing, sliding tracks and shutters.
  • Bed linen changed — Beds made with clean linen, and used linen collected for laundering where that service is included.
  • Tidying and restocking — Rooms tidied and bathroom and kitchen consumables restocked, as agreed.

How the work goes

  1. 1

    Visit and quote

We come to the house to see the areas, the materials and what it actually needs. The quote follows that, rather than a guess over the phone.

  2. 2

    A plan that fits

We agree frequency, duration and what each visit covers, in writing.

  3. 3

    A fixed team

A team is assigned to your house, with one person responsible who is your point of contact.

  4. 4

    Adjustments over time

After a few visits it becomes clear what needs doing more often and what needs doing less. The plan follows.

Frequently asked questions about house cleaning in Loulé

Do you actually work in Loulé, or do you travel in from elsewhere?

Loulé is our base — it is where our office and equipment are. We get there the same day and we know the town in detail.

What usually goes wrong with this kind of work in Loulé?

Much of the centre falls within a heritage protection zone, which restricts façade colours, tile types and window frames. Working here means finding out what is and is not allowed before the first hammer blow. It is the situation we come across most often in Loulé, and it is why we look at the job before quoting.

Do I need to be at home during the clean?

No. Most of our clients leave us a key or an access code. We work with identified staff and always the same team, precisely so that this can work without you having to worry about it.

Do you bring your own products and equipment?

Yes, we bring everything — products, vacuum, mops and cloths. If you would rather we used specific products because of allergies, pets or delicate materials, we will happily use yours.

Do you do one-off cleans, without a contract?

We do. Spring cleans, cleans before guests arrive, or a clean after the house has been shut up for a few months are all frequent requests.
