The roof is the part of the house nobody sees and everybody remembers too late. By the time the stain appears on the bedroom ceiling, water has been running through the structure for months and what was a cracked tile has become rotten timber.,We clean, repair and waterproof roofs — barrel tile, Marseille and Lusa profiles, and flat terraces. We work with a safety line and proper equipment, because this is work at height and there is no job that justifies improvising it.
What's included
- Moss and lichen removal — Low-pressure washing, which cleans without cracking tiles or forcing water underneath them, unlike a pressure washer.
- Replacing cracked tiles — Lifting the affected areas tile by tile and replacing with pieces compatible with the existing ones.
- Anti-fungal treatment — A biocide that holds the moss off for several years.
- Flashings, eaves and ridges — Redoing the ridge mortar and the junctions that are the most common source of leaks.
- Gutters and downpipes — Clearing, repair and replacement, including checking the fall.
- Terrace waterproofing — Bituminous membranes or liquid systems, with treatment of details and drains.

Frequently asked questions
Can I wash the roof with a pressure washer?
We strongly advise against it. High pressure cracks old tiles, strips the ridge mortar and forces water under the tiles — it fixes the appearance and creates the leak. We use low pressure with a proper product.
What is the best time of year to work on a roof?
Between May and October, in dry weather. Waiting for the first rain to call means risking weeks on a waiting list while the water keeps coming in.
How often should a roof be cleaned?
Every four or five years on an exposed house, less often if it gets little shade. Houses surrounded by trees grow moss far more quickly.
Is it worth repairing or better to replace?
If the timber structure is sound and it is a matter of tiles and junctions, repair. Once the timber has given way in several places, patching costs more in the long run — and we say so when that is the case.
How much does it cost to clean a roof?
It depends mainly on the area, the pitch and the access. A roof you can work on safely from a platform costs less than one that needs scaffolding. The inspection and the quote are free.
How do I know the roof is leaking before a stain appears?
You do not, from below — and that is the problem. Signs inside appear late. The way to know is to go up and look: cracked or slipped tiles, crumbling ridge mortar, accumulated moss and blocked gutters. We do that inspection with photographs and with no obligation.
Do you build new roofs from scratch?
We do, including replacing the structure where the timber has gone. In those cases we say clearly when patching has stopped being worthwhile — patching a roof at the end of its life costs more over time.
Do you work safely at height?
Yes, with a safety line and proper equipment, or scaffolding where the job requires it. We do not improvise work at height, whatever the hurry.
How long does the anti-moss treatment last?
Several years, but it is not permanent and it depends a great deal on exposure. A roof in shade and surrounded by trees grows moss back considerably faster than one in full sun.
