House clean and guest changeover

In a let property there is no middle ground: either it is immaculate when the guests open the door, or it shows up in the review. The changeover clean is the most repetitive work we do and, for exactly that reason, the one where a fixed checklist is worth more than good intentions.
Every visit covers the whole house in the same order: bedrooms made up with laundered and pressed linen, bathrooms disinfected with attention to the joints and the limescale on the taps, kitchen with the appliances cleaned inside and out, floors and glass. The towels and the bed linen go out to be laundered and come back ready to put on.
What separates this from an ordinary domestic clean is the presentation detail — bed linen pulled taut without creases, towels folded, bathroom consumables restocked. It is that finish the guest photographs and comments on.
