Pool retiled in mosaic with epoxy grout
A complete blue mosaic finish and epoxy grouting, on a pool that was losing tiles.
The pool had mosaic coming away in several areas of the wall and darkened grout along the whole waterline. The pattern was clear: where the grout had gone, water had got in behind the finish and was lifting the tiles in patches.
We drained it and removed everything that was no longer holding, including areas that still looked sound but rang hollow. The substrate was made good and waterproofed before any new mosaic went on — tiling over a substrate that still lets water through guarantees the problem returns.
The mosaic was laid with an adhesive rated for permanent immersion, with particular attention to the steps and the curve of the floor, where alignment is hardest to hold. The grouting was done in two-part epoxy: more expensive, and with a short working time that keeps the team moving, but it is not porous and does not darken with chlorine or pH swings.
