Shutter cleaning after building work
Shutters covered in construction dust brought back, slat by slat and with the tracks cleared.
Shutters are among the surfaces that suffer most during building work, and among those most often left out of a rushed final clean. Plaster dust gets between the slats, settles in the tracks and, with moisture, sets into a crust that will not come off with a cloth.
The cleaning is done slat by slat, with the side tracks and the shutter box cleared out — that is where the residue collects that otherwise falls again every time the shutter is raised or lowered.
It is slow work with nothing spectacular about it, but it is exactly the kind of detail that separates a real post-construction clean from a pass over the top.
