Interior painting and general repairs
Painting throughout the house alongside the repairs that turned up along the way, done by the same team.
This is the kind of job that rarely stays within what was agreed at the outset — and it is just as well that it does not. It starts as a general repaint and, as the sanding and preparation go on, the things hidden under the old paint start to appear.
We treated cracks, areas of degraded render, skirting junctions and isolated damp before any finishing coat went on. Where there were signs of damp, we checked the source rather than painting over it: a stain that comes back six months after the paint means doing that whole wall again.
Having the same team do the repair and the painting avoids the classic split of responsibility, where the painter says the problem is the builder's and the builder says it was the paint. Here the job has one person accountable.
