Exterior painting of a villa with a veranda
Façade, veranda and outdoor ceilings repainted, with full protection of the paving and the glazing.
The house has a continuous veranda on posts running the full width of the front, and that is the area that gives the most work in an exterior repaint: ceilings, the inner faces of the posts, beams and junctions, all on surfaces seen from below and where splashes are inevitable if the protection is done in a hurry.
We protected the paving across the whole working area and covered the sliding glazed openings, which take up virtually the entire façade. Preparation included washing down, removing paint with poor adhesion, treating cracks and priming the areas most degraded by the sun.
On the south-facing façades we used a higher grade of paint than on the rest of the house. It is a small difference in cost against the total, and it translates into years of difference before the colour begins to fade.
